“May the Church be a place of God’s mercy and hope, where all feel welcomed, loved, forgiven and encouraged to live according to the good life of the Gospel. And we must go out through these doors and proclaim the Gospel.”
Pope Francis, 2013
Our Parish Community
St Vincent’s is a small, but thriving Catholic community in the centre of Liverpool, close to Liverpool One and the Baltic Triangle.
Our growing parish has a variety of groups and activities that bring life to the parish, including a young adult group, Gospel sharing, Young Vincentians, the food bank (in collaboration with Micah Liverpool) and our justice and peace group.
We also have various ministries for people to engage with, including visiting and taking the Eucharist to those who are housebound in our community (if you’re sick or are unable to make it to Mass, please contact us to keep us in touch).
If you want a join a community, or explore being a part of a community following Jesus Christ in Liverpool, you’re very welcome at St Vincent’s!
To find out more, and to get the most up to date infomation, get in touch, see the newsletter, our facebook page, notice-boards in the Church or talk to the parish team after one of our Masses.
Join us
All are welcome at St Vincent’s parish, whether you’re new to the area, visiting Liverpool, curious about Catholicism or wanting to come back to the Church after some time away.
Come and join us at our weekend Masses, and stay for tea, coffee, a biscuit and a chance to get to know the community if you come to our 10am Mass on a Sunday.
If you want to explore Catholicism, and are thinking about coming into the Church as an adult, get in touch or speak to one of the parish community as there are often ongoing groups for adult formation and reception into the Church at St Vincent’s.
For infant baptism and marriages, please get in touch with the parish. For funerals, please speak directly with your funeral director about your wish for your loved one to have a funeral at St Vincent’s.
Access: While level access to the Church is possible through indirect routes, there is one half step at the gate and one step at the doors of the Church through the normal daily open access route.
A hearing loop is normally avaliable for liturgies.
Toilet and baby change: A disabled toilet and baby change facilities are avaliable towards the back of the Church.

Our Church and Our History
St Vincent’s, the ‘Church of the poor’
Since the community was first established as a Chapel-of-Ease or additional chapel building of the existing St Patrick’s parish, the poor of Liverpool have always been at the heart of St Vincent’s mission.
It was described as the ‘Church of the poor’ in an 1857 article in The Tablet which described the ongoing construction of our current E. W. Pugin Church, and how so much of it was funded by the poor parishoners of the area, mostly Irish immigrants.
Today this mission continues in a different way through our food bank that serves the basic needs of the poorest in our area of Liverpool, our fundraising and campaigning for a more just world.
