CHRISTIANS ACCOMPANYING MUSLIMS DURING RAMADAN 2021
(3) Tarâwîḥ - Special Prayers
Muslims perform prayers five times a day. During the month of Ramadan special prayers, called tarâwîh, are performed. They are not obligatory, but many people usually stay behind in the mosque after the final prayer of the day to recite them together. They often include the recitation of substantial passages from the Qur’an.
Last year, because of the restrictions caused by the Coronavirus epidemic, Muslims were invited to recite these special prayers at home. Perhaps this year, with the gradual coming-out of lockdown, it may be possible for Muslims to stay in the mosque for these prayers.
