Gospel Sharing

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path (Ps 119:105).

No individual 'owns' the Word of God. The Holy Spirit reveals its riches when we reflect on the Word together.

A group of parishioners comes together on Wednesday's from 7 - 7.45 pm to read the Gospel of the following Sunday and to listen to it. After that each person can share a word or a phrase of the passage which has drawn his/her attention.  We conclude with prayer.

This form of prayer/ reflection has a long tradition in the Church. It is called Lecto Divina and the three steps are: Lectio (= reading), Meditatio (= reflection) and Oratio (=prayer).

Any person interested can join. There is no need of having studied the Bible. What we share is not biblical knowledge, but how we feel God is speaking to us through the text, a word or a sentence.

Once the corona virus lock down is over, we will meet in the Guild Room of St Vincent's church. For the time being we meet using the technology of Zoom.

If you would like to join, please do so. As long as we are using Zoom and you wish to join, please send an e-mail to:  stvincent@rcaolp.co.uk and we will send you a link to join the meeting.
